Halloween Shenanigans

It is only a couple of days until Thanksgiving, so I am feeling a little pressure to get Jonah's Halloween pictures posted. This was a great Halloween, as it was the first one that Jonah really got to enjoy. Last year, I think he was totally confused and/or completely oblivious whereas, this year, he relished every new experience. The first order of business was a visit to a local pumpkin patch with Eric and me.
Next up was pumpkin carving with special guest Uncle Matt.
A few days later was the costume parade at our local library, which was really cute. I took time off of work and met Jonah, Nana, and our family friend Sue to see the little man's inaugural run in his new hedgehog costume. I am so glad I was able to be there. Didn't get any pictures during the actual parade, but these are from the after-activities.
Finally, we took Jonah trick or treating to our close neighbors' houses, and also to visit our friends Kevin and Lisa in their new house. Judging from the photos, I think Jonah really enjoyed his first Halloween out and about in the neighborhood.
So enjoyed Halloween with Little Man this year. Can't wait to do it again next October!

Beautiful Baby Boy

When Jonah turned one this past August, we had our favorite Fort Collins photographer, Lynette Seelmeyer, take formal photos to document the occasion. We shared a few of these on Facebook, back closer to when they were actually taken, but thought people might like to take a peek at a few more. Sorry for the delay--I somehow misplaced the disc Lynette sent us, and I had to get a new one. Fail. Regardless, love how these turned out.

What We Did On Our Summer Vacation: Part Two

Hey, I am getting around to Part Two of pictures from the summer, and it is only the last day of September! At this rate, I will get through the summer photos by the time Christmas rolls around. Go, me! I kid, I kid. This is the second-to-last installment of summer pictures, and I thought they were important ones. I didn't want to leave Jonah's birthday out, despite the long delay, so here you go: pictures from Jonah's first birthday fiesta. It was a great time (which may not have guessed, based upon Jonah's super serious facial expression in these photos). We were so thankful to get to share the day with our wonderful friends and family.

I so wish I had a better picture of Jonah with his new wagon. He is in LOVE.

Next up, the J Man's one year portraits--these will be worth the wait, but I will try not to make the wait too long. We'll see...

P.S. Please excuse the irregular spacing. I don't know what's up with that, but I am sleepy and don't feel like fixing it.

What We Did On Our Summer Vacation: Part One

So, for a while last school year, I was a super star blogger. I was doing five posts per week! Maybe because of that, though, I crashed about a third of the way through the summer. Perhaps I was all blogged out, or maybe I dropped the ball on the blogging because being a stay-at-home mom is way more hectic (and wonderful) than I expected. Regardless, it was slow going with blog maintenance. Now, though, it is high time for an update on what the crew has been up to since July.

Long story short, after the big Telluride trip, we pretty much took it easy this summer (with the exception of attending Eric's Dad and Edie's wedding in Ogden in July, which was such a whirlwind trip that we didn't take any pictures--shame on us!). We spent some quality time in Strongmont with the little man, enjoyed visits from friends and family, and capped off the summer with a first birthday fiesta for Jonah in our back yard.

With the explanations out of the way, let's get on with the photos. First, a few shots from a mid-summer visit from Eric's family. Uncle Pat and Aunt Amber were out from Ohio, Uncle Nate and Aunt Lena drove up from Denver, and Grandpa P came down from Fort Collins. It was so nice to see them all!.

Another fun summer activity was a visit to Sunflower Farms, which is just outside of town. It was crazy hot on the evening we went (and, let's face it, almost every evening this summer), but there were so many things to do and see. Jonah had a great time checking everything out.

Jonah also got to get up close and personal with some baby animals (and grown up animals) when we visited the Boulder County Fair. As a former 4-H kid, I love me some county fair time, so I think I might mandate that this be an annual family outing.

In between outings, we have just been hanging as a family. It has been so fun to see how quickly the J Man is picking up new skills. He can now wave bye bye, walk holding just one of our hands, and point (which has definitely upped his level of demandingness, but at least he can now tell us what he wants!). Here are just a few photos of Jonah at play. Love our little guy.

Next up, the birthday bash! Back soon with those pictures.
