Fall Fun

Fall marches on and, with the exception of Jonah's first Thanksgiving (and wedding dress shopping with Auntie Em--no pictures of that one because we don't want to spoil the surprise!), things have been pretty tame in the P household. Eric, Jonah, and I have fallen into a mostly comfortable rhythm. We spend a lot of time just hanging around the house or running errands around town, but we really are enjoying both. Jonah's evolving personality and ample cuteness make even mundane tasks pretty fun. Here are a few day-to-day shots of the Jonah-meister.
During November, Jonah has discovered some new fun favorites. Currently, his time-filler of choice has been exploring the world via his sense of taste. He is now able to place objects, rather than just his hands, in his mouth, and he is loving it.
A new preferred mouth-ee is his favorite toy, Sophie the Giraffe. Jonah and Sophie have been having some good times together lately, including some comfy naps.
Jonah is also loving spending time with Nana and Grandpa M, who have been providing childcare while Eric and I go to work. Evidently, Jonah smiles every time my dad enters the room. He must just have that look that is irresistible to babies. Regardless, it makes for fun guy time shared between Jonah, Grandpa, and Stan.
Speaking of guy time, the only tough thing going on as of late is that it has been hard for Eric to have such limited time with Jonah during the week with his long commute. We have been doing our best to maximize our weekend time with Little Man, but I know Eric would like to be home more. That doesn't mean there aren't some sweet father-son moments to catch on film. For instance, with the weather remaining pretty nice in our neck of the woods, we've been able to take some walks during the last few weeks. Jonah's increased head control has allowed him to graduate to facing forward in his baby carrier, which he is pretty jazzed about. He is loving checking out the neighborhood with his dad as guide.
Jonah has also become a great restaurant buddy. This past weekend, we checked out the Garden Gate Cafe in Niwot (which is great, by the way), and Jonah did an awesome job hanging on Dad's lap with Sophie in tow.
We will end this post with a little info on Jonah's first ever Thanksgiving. Obviously, Jonah wasn't partaking in any turkey-eating, but he did enjoy some good times with my family. Nana and Grandpa hosted, Em and Jordan came down from Fort Collins, Matt and his girlfriend, Jen, visited from Denver, Uncle David was in town from Oklahoma, and we enjoyed a short and sweet five minute drive from our place. It was nice to give Grandma a chance to host after years of she and my dad being displaced during holidays. The food was great, and a good time was had by all. Jonah got lots of love and got to wear a special Thanksgiving onesie. Here are a few shots from the celebration. Please excuse my cheese-tastic facial expressions.
